How this site uses your data

When you send an Enquiry

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, the kind of Session you’re interested in, a preferred date if you have one, and your message. It is sent to Nikola by email so she can reply to you.

The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and Nikola’s legitimate interest in answering the questions you send her. Your details are not used for marketing and are never sold or shared with anyone else.

If your Enquiry doesn’t lead to a Session, it is deleted within 12 months. If you book a Session, your details are kept as client records for as long as UK tax law requires, currently six years.

Spam protection

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending it. To do that, Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and device. It does not use cookies for advertising.

Visitor statistics

The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites and does not identify you. Nikola sees only totals, such as how many people viewed a page.

Maps in Journal posts

Some Journal posts show where a place is on a Google map. The map loads only when you choose to show it. Until then, nothing is loaded from Google. Once you show it, Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies, under Google's own privacy policy.

Who processes your data

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also delivers form submissions by email. Enquiries arrive in a Google Gmail inbox. Both companies may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards UK law requires for such transfers.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used. Write to hello@nikolaphotostudio.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
